Preparation for Studying with Spring at Tisch
Once you are accepted into the Spring at Tisch program, the following steps will prepare and guide you through the necessary paperwork required for your semester at NYU. You will also be contacted via email by the Special Programs Student Services Office shortly after your acceptance into the program.
1. Confirm your participation
After you have received your acceptance notification, you must confirm your participation with the Tisch Special Programs Admissions Office,c (212) 998-1512.
2. Register for classes
Tisch Special Programs Student Services will process registration for your spring semester. Your schedule will consist of your CORE curriculum plus any classes you select from the Tisch companion course curriculum. The registration form is found in the Registration Guide (located to the right - available in October), and must be submitted no later than November 7, 2011, in order to ensure course availability. Make sure to confirm your schedule is accurate on your NYUHome account by the end of the December.
3. Apply for housing
While NYU housing is optional for students, many participants choose to live on-campus. Living in NYU housing can be easier than finding off-campus housing, and residence life offers an additional social dimension to your NYU experience. If you would like to apply for NYU housing, download the instructions and application on the right hand side of this page (available in October). You must submit your application and deposit no later than November 21, 2011 to secure a spot. If you are interested in off-campus housing, please visit NYU's Off-Campus Housing website.
4. Setup your NYUHome account
Once you have confirmed your participation in the program, we will send you instructions on how to set up your NYUHome account. We will send you important information concerning your program through your NYU email and Home account. You should make sure to update your contact information and check this account regularly, as it will be our main form of communication with you.
5. Submit Financial Aid paperwork
If you are using financial aid from your home institution, please send any financial aid documents, consortium agreement forms, etc. to the NYU Financial Aid Office by November 21, 2011.
6. Submit payment to NYU
During the first week of December, NYU will begin the billing process for the Spring term. You will receive an electronic bill from the NYU Bursar’s Office detailing tuition charges and a payment schedule. Full payment is due by January 5, 2012 (unless you select the Deferred Payment Plan). The NYU Bursar’s Office offers a variety of ways to pay your bill online. For full details about deadlines, payment plans, methods of payment, etc. Go to the Bursar’s website at: http://www.nyu.edu/bursar/payment.info
