Health Insurance
All eligible registered students must maintain health insurance comparable to the NYU-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan. International students are automatically enrolled in the NYU-sponsored Student Health Insurance Basic Plan at a cost of $777 for coverage effective January 9-August 20, 2010. Housing
Students in Spring at Tisch have the option of staying in NYU housing or living off-campus. New York University offers both traditional dorms and apartment-style residence halls; descriptions and fees will be emailed to accepted students. Because residence hall space is at a premium, Spring at Tisch students are urged to make their NYU housing arrangements as early as possible. Learn more about NYU Housing.
Payment
Upon notification of admission, students confirm their acceptance with a nonrefundable $550 deposit, which is applied to tuition. Unless students subscribe to the Deferred Tuition Plan, they will be asked to pay full tuition by January 5, 2010. Payment may be in the form of a personal check, money order or credit card.
Financial Aid
While we are not able to provide direct scholarships, students in Spring at Tisch are eligible for the Deferred Tuition Plan.
Visiting students are also encouraged to consult with their home institutions regarding portable financial assistance such as Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, and educational PLUS loans. The student's home institution processes these loans, which are typically applied to their NYU study via a consortium agreement. This agreement is initiated by the student at his or her home school's financial aid office, which in turn forwards the consortium form to New York University, Office of Financial Aid, 25 West Fourth Street, New York, NY 10012-1119. The Office of Financial Aid can be reached at (212) 998-4444. NYU's Office of Financial Aid then confirms the student's acceptance to the program, registration, and the costs of attendance, and returns the agreement to the home institution.
To determine the amount and type of aid available, the home institution compares the costs of attending with the student's individual financial circumstances. As financial aid processing takes a great deal of time, students seeking aid are strongly encouraged to begin the process with their home school as soon as they are accepted.
